The Minnesota Twins enter their new series with the Texas Rangers with a 35-30 record. The Twins are in second place in the AL Central and are seven games back from the Detroit Tigers. Today ahead of their series opener with the Rangers the Minnesota Twins have announced two roster moves. They have recalled a pitcher from Triple-A to make the start in tonight’s game and optioned another back to Triple-A.

Simeon Woods Richardson

The Minnesota Twins have recalled right-hand pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson from Triple-A. Woods Richardson returns to the Twins after some time in Triple-A. He has already made seven starts for the Twins this year with two wins and two losses. He recorded a 5.02 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 35 strikeouts in 37 and two-thirds innings pitched. Woods Richardson has made three starts for the St. Paul Saints this year with two wins and a 4.24 ERA. He has 19 strikeouts in 17 innings pitched while in Triple-A. He will get the start tonight against the Texas Rangers after his call-up.

Travis Adams

The Minnesota Twins have optioned right-hand pitcher Travis Adams back to Triple-A. There he will continue his season with the St. Paul Saints. Adams heads back to Triple-A without entering a game for the Twins. He has appeared in 13 games this year for St. Paul with two of those being starts. He has recorded a 3-1 record with a 3.43 ERA over 42 innings pitched this year in Triple-A.
