Minnesota Twins Roster Moves 4/25

Twins Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Minnesota Twins have an 11-13 record, placing them in fourth place in the American Central six and a half games back from division-leading Cleveland Guardians. They are coming off a four-game sweep of the Chicago White Sox. They will head to Los Angeles to face the Angels for a three-game series before heading to Chicago for a three-game series against the White Sox. Today, the Twins announced three roster moves before the game with the White Sox.

RHP – Simeon Woods Richardson

The Twins recalled Woods Richardson today from the St. Paul Saints. He has already made two starts for the Twins this year and has one win. He has pitched in 11 innings this year, allowing nine hits, three earned runs, two walks, and 11 strikeouts. He has a 2.45 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP with the Twins.

RHP – Ronny Henriquez

Today, the Twins optioned Henriquez back to Triple-A to pitch to ST. Paul. He appeared in just one game for the Twins, throwing two innings, giving up two hits, one walk, and striking out two. He has a 0.00 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP over that time.

RHP – Justin Topa

The Twins sent Topa to Triple-A for a rehab assignment with the St. Paul Saints today. This spring, Topa pitched in seven games for the Twins. He pitched seven innings, allowing 13 hits, six earned runs, one walk, and struck out six. He finished the spring with a 7.71 ERA and a 2.00 WHIP.

Wrap Up

I hope to see Simeon Woods Richardson given a real shot to stick around this time. He was excellent against Detriot on April 13th, earning the win after six strong innings of two-hit baseball. He followed that up with a strong performance against the White Sox, where he pitched five innings, allowing only two earned runs. The Twins have a favorable schedule over the next two series, so they have a chance to make up some ground in the standings. If Richardson had another strong performance, I do not see how the Twins could afford to send him down.

Toronto Blue Jays Sign Starting Pitcher

The Toronto Blue Jays have had an interesting offseason, to say the least being linked to some of the top free agents such as Juan Soto, Teoscar Hernandez, and more.
