The Twins head into the second game of the series with the Detroit Tigers today. They have a 4-10 record and are four and a half games back in the AL Central. The team has recalled Kody Funderburk to help bolster their bullpen ahead of the second game of the series. The Twins will host the New York Mets for a three-game series after they finish up with the Tigers. The Twins lost game one of the series and will look to even it out in today’s game.

Kody Funderburk – LHP

The Twins have recalled Funderburk from the St. Paul Saints today ahead of their game against the Tigers. Last season, in 27 games with the Twins, he had one win, one save, 32 strikeouts, and a 6.49 ERA. Funderburk pitched in 34.2 innings last year. So with the St. Paul Saints in Triple-A, he has pitched in four games. He has one win while pitching 5.2 innings. Funderburk has a 0.00 ERA, a 0.53 WHIP, and a .059 batting average against.

Scott Blewett – RHP

The Twins have designated Blewett for assignment this morning before their second game against the Tigers. He has pitched in two games so far for the Twins. He has worked in 4.2 innings, allowing four hits, one run, and striking out five. Blewett has a 1.93 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, and a .222 batting average against. Last season for the Twins, Blewett pitched in 12 games with a 1-1 record over 20.1 innings of work. He had a 1.77 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP, and 18 strikeouts.
