
The Minnesota Twins head into a Grapefruit League game against the Baltimore Orioles today. They have a three and two record to start the spring. Ahead of today’s game, they have announced three roster moves. As the team continues to ramp up during spring training aiming to compete this year in the American League Central. LHP – Samuel Perez
The Twins have assigned Perez to the roster ahead of their game today. Perez is twenty-six years old. He is a left-handed pitcher. He has yet to pitch in spring training for the Twins in his career. Last year, he spent most of his time with the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels at Single-A. Then, he was sent to Cedar Rapids to pitch for three games in the Single A+ league. In 35 games with Fort Myers, he recorded a two-win one-loss record with a 2.54 ERA over 67.1 innings of work. In those innings, he was able to record 77 strikeouts at the Single-A level. With Cedar Rapids he pitched in three games, working five innings without factoring in a decision. He had a 1.80 ERA and struck out five during his time there.
3B – Kevin Maitan
The Twins have assigned Maitan to their roster ahead of their game today with the Orioles. Maitan is twenty-five years old and spent all of last season playing for the Cedar Rapid Kernels. He played in 75 games with a .246 average and a slash line of .296/.389/.685. In those 75 games, he had 13 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, and 35 RBIs.

SS – Danny De Andrade
The Twins have assigned De Andrade to their roster before today’s game with the Orioles. The twenty-year-old played in 29 games with Cedar Rapids last year in the Single A+ level. He had a .243 batting average and a slash line of .333/.359/.692. He had six doubles, two home runs, 19 RBIs, and five stolen bases last year.
