The Minnesota Twins enter play today with a 27-31 record and sit in third place in the AL Central. They have lost three straight games. They dropped their series opener 6-5 in walk-off fashion to the Pirates last night. Bailey Ober will start today for the Twins. The Pirates will give Mitch Keller the ball at PNC Park. The first pitch is at 4:05 PM. Before today’s game, the Twins announced two roster moves. They designated Simeon Woods Richardson for assignment. They also recalled another player from Triple-A.

John Klein

The Twins have recalled right-hand pitcher John Klein from the ST. Paul Saints today. Klein has pitched already in two games for the Twins this season, with one loss and a 7.71 ERA. He has only recorded seven outs for the Twins. Klein allowed two hits and two earned runs. He also allowed one home run and one walk. He struck out one. Klein has pitched in 11 games for the Saints, with nine of those coming as a starter. He has a 1-1 record, 6.09 ERA, and a 1.15 WHIP this season in Triple-A.

Simeon Woods Richardson

The Minnesota Twins have designated Richardson for assignment today before their game with Pittsburgh. Richardson has struggled mightily this season with zero wins and seven losses in 12 games for the Twins. He has made ten starts, throwing 47.2 innings of work with 25 walks, 26 strikeouts, a 7.74 ERA, and a 1.89 WHIP. He has a decent 2025 campaign, recording a 7-4 record through 22 starts for the Twins. This season, unfortunately, has not fared the same as his ERA went from 4.04 to 7.74.
