Milwaukee Brewers Roster Moves

Milwaukee Brewers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Undefeated Milwaukee Brewers, yes you read that right folks the Brew crew is currently undefeated and looking to complete a two-game sweep of the Minnesota Twins. They currently lead the Twins 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning as they look to continue their hot start. The Brewers started the year with a three-game sweep of the New York Mets. The Brewers will host the Seattle Mariners for three games starting Friday after a well-deserved day off on Thursday. It will be the toughest pitching they have faced all year as they will see Logan Gilbert on Friday, Bryce Miller on Saturday, and Emerson Hancock on Sunday. It will be a fun series to watch for sure, but before today’s game, the Brewers announced two roster moves ahead of the weekend series.

RHP – Trevor Megill

Megill was placed on the seven-day injured list today for a concussion, this move has been retroactive to March, 31st. Megill has appeared in two games so far this young 2024 season, throwing two innings, giving up two hits, one walk, and striking out three. On the season he has yet to allow a earned run and has a 1.50 WHIP on the year. Megill is an important part of the back end of the Brewers bullpen while Devin Williams is out with two fractures in his lower back. Megill will most likely return to action on the first of next week and should not require a rehab assignment given the fact it is a concussion and has nothing to do with his throwing arm or legs.

RHP – J.B. Bukauskas

The Brewers recalled Bukauskas from the Nashville Sound today their Triple-A affiliate. In Today’s game against the Twins, J.B. entered the game in the middle of the fourth inning. He pitched 1.2 innings allowing one walk and struck out one in his outing. This spring J.B. pitched in 9.2 innings giving up nine hits, four earned runs, three walks, and struck out 16 batters. He had a 3.72 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP this spring.

Wrap Up:

The Brewers were dealt another blow to their bullpen, but luckily they avoided any serious injury with Megill only missing 7 days. With Williams already out until at least June, the team needs Megill in the setup role with Joel Payamps, while Abner Uribe getting the save opportunities in the absence of Williams.
