Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves Make A Trade

The Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves agreed to a trade this evening. The Atlanta Braves are trading Michael Petersen to the Miami Marlins in exchange for cash. Michael Petersen made five appearances for the Marlins last season. He went 0-1 with a 4.76 ERA, a 3.70 FIP, a 1.77 WHIP, and three strikeouts in 5.2 innings. This season, in four games for the Braves, Petersen posted a 4.05 ERA, a 4.43 FIP, a 1.35 WHIP, and five strikeouts in 6.2 innings. Michael Petersen was designated for assignment by the Braves back on July 13th, and now he goes to another National League East foe. The Marlins are currently in third place in the National League East. The Braves are in fourth. Just two games separate the two teams. Petersen will not report to the big league club and has options available.

He pitched for six organizations in their minor league system over nine seasons.
