Kansas City Royals Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Kansas City Royals enter play today with a 20-14 record. They look to win the rubber game of the series with the Texas Rangers. They will host the Milwaukee Brewers next for a three-game series to start the next week of games. They currently sit a game an a half back from the division leading Cleveland Guardians. They announced three roster moves before the third game of the series today.

LHP – Daniel Lynch IV

The Royals recalled Lynch from the Omaha Storm Chasers today. Lynch has started six games for Omaha in Triple-A this year with a two win no loss record so far this year. He has a 5.86 ERA and a 1.73 WHIP on the year. He has pitched in 27.2 innings of work allowing 39 hits, 18 earned runs, nine walks, and 22 strikeouts.

RHP – Colin Selby

The Royals optioned Selby to the Omaha Storm Chasers today. He has pitched in two games with a 6.00 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP with the Royals. In three innings of work he has allowed two hits, two earned runs, and two walks in that time.

RHP – Alec Marsh

The Royals sent Marsh on a rehab assignment down to Triple-A to pitch for the Omaha Storm Chasers. He has started five games for the Royals this year with a undefeated record of with three wins. He has pitched in 26.2 innings of work allowing, 20 hits, eight earned runs, eight walks, and 17 strikeouts.

Wrap Up:

The Royals will welcome Marsh back to the starting rotation as he effectively started the season. Lynch adds another arm to the mix as he has been pitching decent in Triple-A. The Royals are a very interesting team this year and have the pitching staff for cause problems in the American Central this year. The Royals have won seven of their last eleven games and with Marsh in a rehab assignment and Lynch up for a while this team is looking to get hot in the month of May that sees them face the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins.
