Kansas City Royals Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Kansas City Royals today are playing the middle game of their series against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Royals picked up a 3-1 win last night over the Rays to start the series. They are winners of seven of their last eight, averaging 3.9 runs per game while allowing 2.5 runs per game. The Royals will have left-handed pitcher Noah Cameron making the start, it will be his big league debut. Cameron is facing Drew Rasmussen for the Rays. Cameron is being called up from Triple-A Omaha, to make room, Kansas City is optioning right-handed pitcher Jonathan Bowlan to Omaha. The Royals also activated second baseman Tyler Tolbert from the bereavement list and are sending second baseman Nick Loftin to Omaha.

Noah Cameron

Cameron, in five starts at Omaha this season, is 2-0 with a 3.22 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP, and 27 strikeouts in 22.1 innings. Last season, in 25 starts in the minors, he went 7-6 with a 3.08 ERA, a 1.21 WHIP, and 149 strikeouts in 128.2 innings.

Jonathan Bowlan

Bowlan, in one appearance with Kansas City, went two innings without allowing a base runner; he struck out one. In eight games at Omaha, he went 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA, a 1.25 WHIP, and 12 strikeouts in 12 innings. Last season, in one start with the Royals, he allowed four runs on six hits in 2.2 innings. He walked three and struck out three. In 35 appearances at Omaha, he went 12-4 with a 4.67 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and 98 strikeouts in 104 innings.

Tyler Tolbert

Tolber this season in 13 games hasn’t recorded a hit. He has three runs scored and six stolen bases. In two games at Omaha, he is hitting .286 with a .661 OPS. He has an RBI, two runs scored, and a walk. Last season in 129 minor league games, he hit .240 with a .646 OPS. He had 23 doubles, two triples, four home runs, 41 RBI, 68 runs scored, 48 stolen bases, and 47 walks.

Nick Loftin

Loftin, in 22 games at Omaha this season, is hitting .307 with a .939 OPS. He has eight doubles, a home run, eight RBI, 11 runs scored, seven stolen bases, and 26 walks. He didn’t appear in a game at Kansas City during his time. Last season in 57 games with the Royals, he hit .189 with a .519 OPS. He had four doubles, a home run, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored, a stolen base, and 19 walks. In 58 games at Omaha, he hit .302 with a .872 OPS. He had 13 doubles, seven home runs, 35 RBI, 34 runs scored, four stolen bases, and 37 walks.
