The Kansas City Royals will look to complete the sweep as they take on the Astros this afternoon at home. The Royals have now won six games in a row after yesterday’s victory. Kris Bubic will take the mound for the Royals today against Hunter Brown. Kansas City is now 14-14 third in the AL Central three and a half games back from the Detroit Tigers. Ahead of the game, the Royals have announced two roster moves. They have placed second baseman Tyler Tolbert on the bereavement list. They have called up Nick Loftin from Triple-A to take his place.

Tyler Tolbert

Tolbert has played in 13 games this year for the Royals. He has only received five at-bats scoring three runs and stealing six bases. He has yet to record a hit or walk but has been used for his speed as a pinch runner. Tolbert has 243 career steals in the minors to go with a .245 career batting average.

Nick Loftin

The Royals have recalled Loftin from Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers before the series finale with the Astros. Loftin played in 57 games last year for the Royals. He finished the season with a .189 batting average and a .518 OPS. He had 15 runs, 28 hits, four doubles, one home run, and 14 RBI. In 22 games in Triple-A, he has a .307 batting average to start the year. Loftin has 11 runs, 23 hits, eight doubles, one home run, eight RBI, and stole seven bases.
