
The Kansas City Royals will start a three-game series tonight against the Houston Astros. Seth Lugo gets the ball for Kansas City. Hayden Wesneski goes for Houston. Ahead of tonight’s game, they recalled Jonathan Bowlan. He stays on the roster after his called up yesterday to be the 27th man for their doubleheader. Evan Sisk is heading to Omaha allowing Bowlan to remain. Bowlan did not pitch yesterday in either game. Sisk this season has appeared in two games with the Royals going 2.1 shutout innings. He’s allowed two hits, walking two, and striking out five. In 4.2 shutout innings at Omaha he’s allowed up four hits. He hasn’t walked anyone and has struck out four.

Jonathan Bowlan
The Royals drafted Johnathan Bowlan in the second round of the 2018 MLB Draft. Bowlan’s been in the minor leagues for seven seasons. Bowlan made 123 appearances, with 90 of those coming as starts. He went 35-28 with a 4.65 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and 475 strikeouts in 478.1 innings. Bowlan went 2.2 innings and suffered the loss in his lone start last season. He gave up four runs on six hits. Bowlan walked three and struck out three. Bowlan appeared in 35 games for Omaha, with 16 of those coming as starts. He posted a 12-4 record, a 4.67 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and 98 strikeouts in 104 innings. Bowlan, in his college career at Memphis, made 47 appearances with 35 of those coming as starts, going 8-20 with a 3.90 ERA, a 1.32 WHIP, and 211 strikeouts in 224 innings.
