Nationals top prospect James Wood is available for his first appearance in a Nationals uniform today vs. the New York Yankees at 1:05 pm EST.

Slotted in at back-up center fielder, Wood should see a couple of at-bats today versus the Yankees. Nationals fans can catch the game today on ESPN at 1:05 pm eastern.

The 6-foot-7, 240-pound outfielder has quickly risen through both the minor leagues and prospect boards, exciting Nationals fans for what’s to come from Wood. The left-handed bat posted a .313 average, 12 home runs, and 62 RBIs in 2022 at the A level, according to baseball-reference.com. At just 20 years old, this year’s Spring Training aims to get Wood acclimated to the Major league setting before his season in the minors.

MLB Pipeline released their newest Top-30 prospect list and ranked James Wood as the #1 ranked player in the Washington Nationals system. He has arguably the most upside of any prospect in baseball due to his size, strength, and speed.

Nats fans should be as excited for today’s game as any in recent memory. Lots of up-and-coming young players are in today’s lineup for Washington, along with prospects available on the bench. Spring Training is about seeing what players can do, and Nats fans will get to see some of their favorite young players today versus the Yankees.
