Is It Time to Promote the Big 3?

Boston Red Sox Pipeline

The Boston Red Sox Double-A affiliate the Portland Sea Dogs currently are 43-36 and house the Red Sox top three prospects in shortstop Marcelo Mayer who is ranked eighth-ranked prospect overall, outfielder Roman Anthony who ranks as the 15th overall prospect by ITD, and catcher Kyle Teel who is ranked the 28th overall prospect by ITD. The Sea Dogs play in the Eastern League which just kicked off their second half of the season and are 7-3 in the second half. So with those three top prospects in Double-A they are tearing it up and have contributed to the success of the Sea Dogs, so is it time for them to move up to the final level of the minor leagues and get a look for the Worcester Red Sox?

Wrap Up:

If this is the future for the Red Sox which we all expect, with their success in Portland it may be time for them to get the call and see how they do in Triple-A Worcester. Especially, Mayer and Teel who will represent the Red Sox at the 2024 Futures Game, that’ll be their biggest test and maybe the thing that tells the Red Sox organization to give them the bump, then we are only a step away from big league debuts for what Boston fans are waiting for.
