
The Boston Red Sox dropped the final game of their three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays 8-1 this afternoon at Rogers Centre in Toronto, ON.
The Red Sox got on the board in the first inning after Willson Contreras hit a solo home run to make it 1-0. Toronto took the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the third thanks to singles by Kazuma Okamoto, and Yohendrick Pinango. Ernie Clement homered, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth for the Blue Jays.
Toronto added another run in the bottom of the eighth on a solo home run by Brandon Valenzuela on the sixth pitch of the at-bat.
Braydon Fisher earned the win for the Blue Jays. The right-handed pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking none. Brayan Bello took the loss for Boston. The righty went three and two-thirds innings, surrendering four runs on six hits, striking out two, and walking two. Eric Lauer started on the bump for Toronto. The southpaw surrendered five hits and one run over four and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one.
