Toronto Blue Jays Starting Pitcher Options

Sandy Alcantara

Alcantara this season in 17 starts is 4-8 with a 7.01 ERA, a 4.55 FIP, a 1.44 WHIP, and 67 strikeouts in 86 innings. This is his first season back following undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Freddy Peralta

Peralta this season in 19 starts is 10-4 with a 2.74 ERA, a 3.69 FIP, a 1.09 WHIP, and 111 strikeouts in 105 innings. Peralta has a club option for 2026, so the Blue Jays could have him for next season if they so choose.

Seth Lugo

Lugo, through 16 starts, is 6-5 with a 2.65 ERA, a 4.16 FIP, a 1.10 WHIP, and 83 strikeouts in 95 innings. Lugo has a player option for 2026, so acquiring him then, hopefully him staying in Toronto for age 36 season would be the plan.

Zac Gallen

Gallen is 7-9 in 19 starts with a 5.15 ERA, a 4.76 FIP, a 1.35 WHIP, and 107 strikeouts in 110 innings. He is a free agent after this season and could be re-signed for his age-30 season.

Merrill Kelly

Kelly in 18 starts is 7-4 with a 3.55 ERA, a 3.47 FIP, a 1.09 WHIP, and 103 strikeouts in 104 innings. Kelly is also a free agent following this season; however, next season will be his age-37 season.

Luis Severino

Severino is 2-10 this season in 19 starts with a 5.30 ERA, a 4.45 FIP, a 1.39 WHIP, and 73 strikeouts in 108.2 innings. Not exactly the option for Toronto. He is under contract through 2026 with a player option for 2027.

Tyler Mahle

Mahle, before his injury, had made 14 starts, going 6-3 with a 2.34 ERA, a 3.36 FIP, a 1.13 WHIP, and 56 strikeouts in 77 innings. He is expected to return after the deadline. He is a free agent after this season.

Walker Buehler

Buehler has struggled as of late after a solid start to the 2025 season. He is 6-6 with a 6.25 ERA, a 5.77 FIP, a 1.58 WHIP, and 61 strikeouts in 72 innings. Buehler has a mutual option for 2026, which will be his age-31 season.

Erick Fedde

Fedde in 18 starts is 3-9 with a 4.79 ERA, a 4.76 FIP, a 1.47 WHIP, and 57 strikeouts in 94 innings. He is a free agent after this season.
