Detroit Tigers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Detroit Tigers start a crucial series tonight against the New York Yankees. The Tigers are 2-4 in September averaging 5.7 runs per game while allowing 6.2 runs per game. Ahead of tonight’s series opener the Tigers placed left-handed pitcher Bailey Horn on the paternity list. They have recalled left-handed pitcher Drew Sommers from Triple-A Toledo.

Horn in seven games with Detroit this season is 0-1. He posts a 2.16 ERA, a 1.56 WHIP, and seven strikeouts in 8.1 innings. He has also appeared in 43 minor league games with 21 of those coming as starts. Horn is 6-2 with a 3.80 ERA, a 1.48 WHIP, and 53 strikeouts in 42.2 innings. He has made 25 career big league appearances going 1-2 with a 5.13 ERA, a 1.71 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts in 26.1 innings.

Drew Sommers

Sommers has appeared in four games for the Tigers this season is 0-1 with an 18.00 ERA, a 3.33 WHIP, and three strikeouts in three innings. He has also appeared in 44 games between Triple-A Toledo and Double-A Erie. Sommers is 4-1 with a 2.44 ERA, a 0.95 WHIP, and 66 strikeouts in 59 innings.
