The Detroit Tigers added three relievers and two starting pitchers over the last few days as the trade deadline occurred yesterday. Ahead of today’s series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Tigers added right-handed pitchers Kyle Finnegan and Rafael Montero to the 26-man roster. They optioned right-handed pitcher Chase Lee to Triple-A Toledo. Charlie Morton, also acquired yesterday, will join the team tomorrow and will be activated and pitch on Sunday.

Kyle Finnegan

Finnegan, in 40 games this season, is 1-4. He has 20 saves, a 4.38 ERA, a 1.28 WHIP, and 32 strikeouts in 39 innings. Finnegan in 331 career big league games is 23-30. He has 108 saves, a 3.66 ERA, a 4.16 FIP, a 1.32 WHIP, and 320 strikeouts in 329.1 innings. He was an All-Star last season.

Rafael Montero

Montero, in 39 games between the Houston Astros and Atlanta Braves, went 0-1. He had a 5.40 ERA, a 1.38 WHIP, and 39 strikeouts in 38.1 innings.is in his 11th season. In 360 career appearances, he is 22-29 with a 4.76 ERA, a 1.46 WHIP, and 498 strikeouts in 500.2 innings. He has pitched for the New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, Houston Astros, and Atlanta Braves.

Chase Lee

Lee in 32 games with the Tigers this season, went 4-1. He had a 4.10 ERA, a 4.49 FIP, a 1.10 WHIP, and 36 strikeouts in 37.1 innings. In eight games at Triple-A Toledo, he is 0-1 with a 9.53 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts in 11.1 innings.
