The Detroit Tigers will take on the Cincinnati Reds for a three-game series this weekend. The Tigers dropped two out of three to start the week and were outscored 19-15. The Tigers announced today ahead of the series opener that they are recalling outfielder Parker Meadows from Triple-A Toledo and are optioning outfielder Akil Baddoo to Triple-A.

Tigers Moves By The Numbers 

Parker Meadows

Meadows made his debut last season for the Tigers playing in 37 games hitting .232 with a .699 OPS; he had four doubles, two triples, three home runs, 13 RBI, 19 runs scored, eight stolen bases, and 17 walks. He was expected to take the leap this season and be Tigers 2024 center fielder but in 32 games he hit .096 with a .443 OPS; he had one double, one triple, two home runs, three RBI, nine runs scored, three stolen bases, and 11 walks. He was optioned to Triple-A to find his swing and in 47 games he hit .298 with a .904 OPS; he had ten doubles, three triples, eight home runs, 24 RBI, 38 runs scored, 19 stolen bases, and 28 walks. Now he returns to Detroit in hopes he’s figured things out. 

Akil Baddoo

Baddoo in 22 games with Detroit is hitting .132 with a .582 OPS; he had a double, two triples, two home runs, four RBI, seven runs scored, a stolen base, and eight walks. This season at Toledo he’s played in 40 games hitting .253 with a .833 OPS; he had seven doubles, four triples, six home runs, 22 RBI, 28 runs scored, 16 stolen bases, and 25 walks.
