Detroit Tigers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Detroit Tigers play the second game of their four game series against the Cleveland Guardians tonight. The Tigers will have Jackson Jobe on the mound facing off against Slade Cecconi for the Guardians. The Tigers today activated third baseman/outfielder Matt Vierling from the injured list. To make room for Vierling they optioned left handed reliever Sean Guenther to Triple-A Toledo. Vierling has played in 11 minor league games during his rehab stint hitting .206 with an .813 OPS. He had two doubles, two home runs, five RBI, five runs scored, a stolen base and nine walks. Guenther in nine games with Detroit this season is 0-1 with a 5.23 ERA, a 2.98 FIP, a 1.45 WHIP, and eight strikeouts in 10.1 innings.

Matt Vierling

Vierling played in 144 games for the Tigers last season hitting .257 with a .735 OPS. He had 28 doubles, five triples, 16 home runs, 57 RBI, 80 runs scored, six stolen bases, and 41 walks. In two seasons with the Tigers he’s hit .259 with a .714 OPS. He has 49 doubles, ten triples, 26 home runs, 101 RBI, 143 runs scored, 12 stolen bases, and 85 walks. 

Sean Guenther

Guenther in three minor league games this season is 0-1 with an 8.10 ERA, a 1.80 WHIP, and three strikeouts in 3.1 innings.
