The Reds have lost six of their last ten games. They enter the weekend after losing their last series against the Milwaukee Brewers. This weekend they host the Arizona Diamondbacks for three games. The Reds have a 30-33 record. They are nine and a half games back from the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central. Before the series opener with Arizona the Cincinnati Reds have announced two roster moves. They are activating one off the injured list and have designated another for assignment. The Cincinnati Reds have been making plenty of roster moves. They are shuffling people on and off the injured list yet again this year.

Christian Encarnacion-Strand

The Reds have activated Encarnacion-Strand from the 10-day injured list today ahead of their game with the Diamondbacks. After a rehab stint in the minors, he will return to the team for the weekend series. Encarnacion-Strand has played in 15 games so far this year for the Reds. He has nine hits, two doubles, two home runs, five RBI, and a .158 batting average. He was originally placed on the injured list with lower back inflammation in April. In 10 games with Louisville in Triple-A, he was crushing the ball. Encarnacion-Strand had five doubles, one triple, two home runs, seven RBI, and a .324 batting average.

Austin Wynns

The Reds have designated Austin Wynns for assignment ahead of tonight’s series opener with the Diamondbacks. He has played in 18 games for the Reds Wynns had success at the plate with a .400 batting average and a 1.142 OPS. Wynns had three doubles, three home runs, and 11 RBI during his recent time with the Reds. What happens next for Wynns is uncertain. He will either go back to the minors or be traded after being designated.
