The Cincinnati Reds are trying to avoid the sweep. They prepare to take on the Cardinals in their series finale today. Andrew Abbott will get the start today for the Reds, and Mike Mikolas will go for the Cardinals today. The Cincinnati Reds have announced several roster moves ahead of today’s game. With an overworked bullpen, the team has recalled one reliever from Triple-A along with an outfielder. To make room, they have designated one player for assignment. They have also optioned another pitcher from yesterday’s game back to Louisville after a short stay.

Rece Hinds

The Cincinnati Reds have recalled right fielder Rece Hinds from Triple-A today. Hinds has played in seven games this year for the Reds with one double, two home runs, and three RBI. He has struggled to maintain his low batting average this year, with a .158 average in 19 at-bats and 10 strikeouts.

Chase Petty

One day after being recalled from Triple-A, the Reds have optioned Chase Petty back to Louisville. Petty recorded two outs in yesterday’s game against the Cardinals. He suffered the loss and allowed one run on one hit and one batter hit.

Garrett Hampson

The Cincinnati Reds have designated Garrett Hampson for assignment ahead of the series finale with the Cardinals. In nine games with the Reds this year Hampson has a .167 batting average with one double, three total hits, and six strikeouts.

Yosver Zulueta

The Reds have recalled Yosver Zulueta, a right-handed relief pitcher, from Triple-A. Zulueta has pitched in two games this year for the Reds and has a 3.86 ERA in two and a third innings pitched. He has appeared in 22 games this year in Triple-A with one win and one loss on the year. He has a 5.33 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and allowed a .198 batting average against.
