Cincinnati Reds Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Cincinnati Reds will play the middle game of their three-game series against the San Francisco Giants tonight. They are coming off a 2-0 win over the Giants last night with a two-run double from Blake Dunn. Today they recalled third baseman Noelvi Marte and outfielder Will Benson from Triple-A Louisville and optioned right-handed pitcher Carson Spiers to Louisville.

Noelvi Marte

Marte is hitting .353 with a .954 OPS in nine games at Louisville. He has six doubles, five RBI, six runs scored, three stolen bases, and four walks. Marte appeared in 66 games last season for the Reds, hitting .210 with a .549 OPS. He had nine doubles, four home runs, 18 RBI, 24 runs scored, nine stolen bases, and nine walks. 

Will Benson

Benson in nine games at Louisville is hitting .342 with a .943 OPS. He has two doubles, a triple, two home runs, eight RBI, eight runs scored, and a walk. In 128 games last season with the Reds, he hit .187 with a .650 OPS. He had 19 doubles, two triples, 14 home runs, 43 RBI, 41 runs scored, 16 stolen bases, and 40 walks. 

Carson Spiers

Spiers this season is 0-2 with a 4.82 ERA, a 1.18 WHIP, and eight strikeouts in 9.1 innings. In 2024 at Louisville, he made nine appearances with eight of those coming as starts going 3-1 with a 2.51 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP, and 49 strikeouts in 46.2 innings. With the Reds last season he appeared in 22 games with ten of those coming as starts he went 5-7 with a 5.46 ERA, a 1.53 WHIP, and 80 strikeouts in 90.2 innings.
