Cincinnati Reds Down on the Farm 6/10-6/16

The Cincinnati Reds Minor League Affiliate clubs have all kicked off their seasons. Checkin with the Top Ten Prospects

RHP – Rhett Lowder – Chatanooga Lookouts

Lowder made one start this past series. He only pitched 2.2 innings gave up five hits, two earned runs, one hit batter, one walk and zero strikeouts. He finished the outing with a 2.25 WHIP and a 6.75 ERA. He should make his next start one June 21st in the upcoming series.

3B – Noelvi MarteSuspended 80 GamesLouisville Bats

Marte is back and Playing for the Louisville Bats and played in five games last week. He had 22 at-bats and scored two runs, four hits, one double, and seven strikeouts. He slugged .182/.182/.227 with a .409 OPS in his return to play.

SS – Edwin Arroyo—out for the Year–Chattanooga Lookouts

Arroyo is out for the seaosn.

3B – Cam Collier – Dayton Dragons

Cam Collier played in six games with 21 at-bats over the last seven days. He scored one run, had four hits, one home run, three RBIs, three walks, and nine strikeouts. He ended the series slashing .190/.292/.333 and had a .625 OPS.

RHP – Chase Petty– Chattanooga Lookouts

Petty started one game during the six-game series. He pitched six innings without factoring in the decision. He allowed nine hits, three earned runs, two walks, and struck out one. He finished the day with a 4.50 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP.

RHP – Connor PhillipsLouisville Bats

Phillips made one start last week and ended up taking the loss. He struggled once again pitching three innings and allowing 11 hits. He gave up eight earned runs, and one walk and struck out four. He had a 4.00 WHIP and a 24.00 ERA this past week.

C – Alfredo Duno – Daytona Tortugas –ON INJURED LIST CURRENTLY

Duno is another new addition to the Reds top 10 prospects this month. He is an 18-year-old catching prospect from Venezuela. This year he has 116 at-bats, 18 runs scored, 31 hits, three home runs, 16 RBIs, and two steals. He is hitting for a .287 average, an OBP of .367, and an OPS of .789 on the year. He is currently on the seven-day injured list and has not played since May, 28th.

RHP – Julian Aguiar – Chattanooga Lookouts

Aguiar made two starts this past series recording one loss in the two starts. He pitched 12 innings allowing 20 hits, eight earned runs, one home run, one hit by pitch, one walk, and nine strikeouts. He had a 1.75 WHIP and a 6.00 ERA over those two starts. He will make one start in the next series.

RHP – Andrew Moore – Chattanooga Lookouts

Moore pitched in one game this past series. He threw two innings allowing three walks, and struck out three. He had a 0.00 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP over the last six games.

RHP – Zack Maxwell – Louisville Bats

Maxwell pitched in two games throwing 1.2 innings this past week. He gave up one hit, two walks, and struck out four. He had a 0.00 ERA and a 1.80 WHIP last week.

The Week Ahead

Louisville Bats (AAA) (34-34)

The Triple-A Louisville Bats hosted the St. Paul Saints the Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins this week. They ended up getting swept in the series and now will head on the road to play the Omaha Storm Chasers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.

Chattanooga Lookouts (AA) (17-46)

Last week, the Lookouts played the Montgomery Biscuits for a six-game home stand—the Tampa Bay Rays Double-A affiliate. They lost the series two games to four and will head on the road for the next series. They will head to Pensacola to take on the Blue Wahoos next. The Wahoos are the Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins.

Dayton Dragons (High-A) (31-32)

Last week, the Dragons played the Great Lake Loons the High-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. They ended up splitting the series three games to three. They will travel to play the West Michigan Whitecaps High-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.

The Tortugas played the Palm Beach Cardinals this past week. Palm Beach is the Single-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. They split the series three games to three. The Tortugas travel to play the Dunedin Blue Jays the Single-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays this coming week for a six-game series.
