Chicago White Sox Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The White Sox prepare to take on the Red Sox in a three-game series this weekend in Chicago. The White Sox have a 2-10 record on the year. Ahead of today’s series opener, they have called up one of the key prospects from the Garrett Crochet trade. Chase Meidroth will get a chance to make his MLB debut against his former organization this weekend.

Chase Meidroth – 3B

The White Sox have selected Meidroth’s contract from the Charlotte Knights. Meidroth was part of the Red Sox’s return in exchange for Garrett Crochet this past December. In nine games in Triple-A this year, he has scored 11 runs and made eight hits. He has hit one double and three home runs. He also has four RBIs and two steals. Meidroth has a .267 batting average with a 1.050 OPS. He will be looking to make his Major League Debut this series against his former team.

Justin Anderson – RHP

The White Sox have designated Anderson for assignment today ahead of their series opener with the Red Sox. In four games for the Charlotte Knights, he has pitched 5.2 innings with a 7.94 ERA and a 1.59 WHIP. He has struck out eight while walking just two batters. Opponents this year have a .318 batting average against.

Greg Jones – RF

The White Sox have optioned Jones back down to Triple-A, where he will continue his year with the Charlotte Knights. Jones did not see any game action in his short call-up with the White Sox. Jones will head back to Charlotte to try and improve on his .129 batting average.
