Chicago White Sox Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Chicago White Sox have a 30-27 record with two days left in May and will enter June above .500, what a turnaround for the White Sox after a 102-loss season in 2025. They have won four of their last five games. They will look to win their fourth straight game today. This match will be against the Tigers. Ahead of today’s game, the Chicago White Sox have announced three roster moves. The team will sit down their rookie sensation Munetaka Murakami for at least 10 days. He has a hamstring injury. They are calling up a red-hot shortstop from Charlotte to fill his roster spot.

Munetaka Murakami

The Chicago White Sox have placed First baseman Munetaka Murakami on the injured list. His right hamstring strain requires a ten-day recovery period. Murakami is a huge reason for the White Sox’s dramatic turnaround this season. He has played in 57 games for the White Sox with 20 home runs and 41 RBI. He has slashed .240/.378/.938 so far this season.

Jacob Gonzalez

The White Sox have selected the contract of Jacob Gonzalez from Triple-A today. The Shortstop has played in 52 games this season for the Charlotte Knights. In those games, Gonzalez has a .317/.419/.668 slashline. Gonzalez has 11 doubles, one triple, 19 home runs, and 62 RBI already this season. Although the call-up is due to unfortunate circumstances and might be short-lived, Gonzalez has certainly earned a shot. His start to the season with Charlotte supports this.
