Chicago Cubs Roster Moves 7/12/25

Chicago Cubs Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Chicago Cubs will look to rebound today after getting shut out and destroyed by the Yankees last evening. The worst part of last night’s beating was Cody Bellinger’s three-home run game. It could’ve been four if it wasn’t for Kyle Tucker’s glove robbing him of one. The Cubs have won six of their last ten games. They are holding on to a one game lead over the Brewers in the NL Central entering play today. This afternoons game kicks off at 1:05 EDT at Yankee Stadium and should be a good one. The Cubs will have Matthew Boyd on the mound. The Yankees will send out Max Fried. He has 11 wins already this season. Many Cubs fans are waiting for Jed Hoyer to make a trade. However, today the Chicago Cubs have announced two roster moves impacting their pitching staff. The Chicago Cubs have optioned one left-hand pitcher back to Triple-A. They have also selected the contract of a right-hand pitcher from the Iowa Cubs. This was done before this afternoon’s game.

Wicks in four games this year for the Cubs has one loss and a 9.72 ERA over eight and one-third innings pitched. He will head back to Iowa and continue his season. He will try and turn things around in the second half after going 1-3 in Triple-A with a 4.06 ERA over 11 starts in 12 total games pitched in Triple-A.

Cubs Select Brooks Kriske’s Contract

The Chicago Cubs have selected the contract of Brooks Kriske. He comes from the Iowa Cubs in Triple-A. This move is ahead of game two with the Yankees. He has a 3.13 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and held opponents to a .200 average so far this season.
