Chicago Cubs Prospect Check-In: Week 3

The Chicago Cubs played the Los Angeles Angels, Cincinnati Reds, Seattle Mariners, Colorado Rockies, Texas Rangers, and the Milwaukee Brewers this week. The Team went 5-0-1 this past week with a 2-2 tie being the only game they didn’t get to fly the W this past week.

OF – Pete Crow-Armstong

Crow-Armstrong played in three games this past week going 0-4 with one stolen base. PCA has been optioned to the Triple AAA and has been added to the Spring Breakout Roster for this coming week’s game. Pete ended camp with three doubles, one RBI, three stolen bases, and slashed .160/.222/.280 while playing in the Cactus League.

P – Cade Horton

Horton is not pitching for the Cubs in Cactus League play.

OF – Owen Cassie

Cassie played in three games this week going 1-7 with one run scored and one RBI. Owen has one home run, seven RBIs, and is slashing .440/.517/.680 this spring through 12 games in Catcus league play.

1B – Michael Busch

Busch played in four games this past week going, 3-11, with three runs scored, two home runs, and three RBIs on the week. Busch is now slashing .250/.357/.583 on the spring with two home runs and three RBIs total.

OF – Kevin Alcantara

Alcantara played in two games this week going 0-2 during his time. Alcantara is now slashing 154/.154/.385 in seven Catcus league games.

3B – Matt Shaw

Shaw played in two games this week going 2-7 with two runs scored, one triple, one home run, and three RBIs during the week. Shaw is now slashing .250/.313/.571 in 12 games played this spring.

2B – James Triantos

Triantos appeared in two games this week going 0-2 during his time. Triantos is slashing .167/.167/.333 in three games played this spring.

P – Jordan Wicks

Wicks pitched in one game throwing 4.1 Innings during that game giving up two hits and striking out seven batters. During this appearance, Wicks threw 31 pitches, 30 of which were for strikes. For the Spring Wicks has thrown 12.1 innings striking out 10, walking 1, giving up 12 hits, and has an ERA of 1.46 and a WHIP of 1.05.

P – Ben Brown

Brown did not appear in any games this week for the Cubs in Cactus League play

1B – Moises Ballesteros

Ballesteros appeared in one game and went 0-3 during his time this week. He remains hitless during Cactus League play.
