If you haven’t heard, I don’t know how you haven’t. On Sunday, the Boston Red Sox traded designated hitter Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants. They got pitchers Kyle Harrison, Jordan Hicks, and Jose Bello along with prospect James Tibbs III. To make room on the 40-man roster for Harrison and Hicks, the Red Sox designated Zach Penrod for assignment. Zach Penrod is a left-handed pitcher. Today, he has been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The assumption is that the trade is for cash.
