The Red Sox acquired Alcala from the Minnesota Twins on June 11 in exchange for Andy Lugo. Since then, he’s appeared in 19 games with Boston. He posted a 3.31 ERA, a 5.56 FIP, a 1.65 WHIP, and 18 strikeouts in 16.1 innings. In 22 games with the Twins, he went 0-2. He posted an 8.88 ERA, a 5.45 FIP, a 1.81 WHIP, and 46 strikeouts in 40.2 innings. He’s made 185 career big league appearances, going 9-13 with a 4.24 ERA, a 4.56 FIP, a 1.22 WHIP, and 211 strikeouts in 204 innings.

Isaiah Campbell

Campbell made his lone appearance for the Red Sox this season. He went two innings and gave up two runs on four hits. He didn’t allow a walk or record a strikeout. In 34 games for Triple-A Worcester, he is 6-6. Campbell posts a 4.17 ERA, a 1.59 WHIP, and 41 strikeouts in 45.1 innings. In 36 big league appearances, he is 4-2 with a 5.54 ERA, a 4.52 FIP, a 1.47 WHIP, and 39 strikeouts in 37.1 innings.
