The Boston Red Sox wrap up their series with the Colorado Rockies tonight as they look to complete a sweep. The Red Sox have won five straight games and are winners of seven of their last eight games. They are averaging 8.5 runs per game over the last eight while allowing 3.9 runs per game. Today, they are activating Masataka Yoshida off the injured list. To make room for Yoshida, the Red Sox are optioning Nate Eaton to Triple-A Worcester.

Yoshida is set to make his 2025 debut tonight, this season on his rehab assignment; he’s appeared in five games between Double-A Portland and Worcester. He’s hit .286 with a .639 OPS. He had three RBI, two runs scored, and two walks. Eaton, in 14 games with the Red Sox, hit .250 with a .630 OPS. He had two doubles, an RBI, five runs scored, three stolen bases, and a walk. In 64 games at Worcester this season, Eaton hit .274 with a .810 OPS. He had 19 doubles, a triple, seven home runs, 35 RBI, 43 runs scored, six stolen bases, and 26 walks.

Masataka Yoshida

Yoshida last season in 108 games with the Red Sox hit .280 with a .765 OPS. He had 21 doubles, ten home runs, 56 RBI, 45 runs scored, two stolen bases, and 27 walks. Yoshida also played in two games at Worcester, where he hit .143 with a .393 OPS. He had two runs scored and a walk. In 2023, his first season with the Red Sox, he finished sixth in Rookie of the Year voting. He hit .289 with a .783 OPS. He had 33 doubles, three triples, 15 home runs, 72 RBI, 71 runs scored, eight stolen bases, and 34 walks.

Nate Eaton

Eaton spent last season at Triple-A Omaha for the Kansas City Royals. In 116 games, he hit .252 with a .738 OPS. He had 30 doubles, a triple, 16 home runs, 60 RBI, 65 runs scored, 27 stolen bases, and 27 walks.
