The Red Sox won their recent series against the Seattle Mariners, even though the Mariners outscored them 9-5 and out-hit them 19-9. Today, the team announced that they will demote rookie second baseman Kristian Campbell to Triple-A Worcester. Campbell started the season hitting .301 with a .902 OPS. He had four home runs, 12 RBI, and 18 runs scored up until April 30th. Since then, he has posted a .159 batting average and a 465 OPS. He has two home runs, nine RBI, and six runs scored.
They will likely announce the corresponding move tomorrow, and it’s expected to be the activation of Wilyer Abreu from the injured list.. Abreu this season is hitting .245 with a .792 OPS. He has eight doubles, 13 home runs, 32 RBI, 28 runs scored, four stolen bases, and 24 walks. Abreu, in his rehab stint, has gone 1-6 with an RBI, a run scored, and a walk. Abreu will likely play tonight for Worcester, then join the team in San Francisco.

Kristian Campbell
