The Boston Red Sox picked up their third straight win last night as they beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-3 behind four home runs coming from Rafael Devers, Ceddanne Rafaela, and two from Tyler O’Neill. Nick Pivetta was dominant on the mound as well going seven innings giving up three runs on nine hits; he walked one and struck out four. The Red Sox have won six of their last eight and tonight will send their best pitcher so far this season in Tanner Houck as he faces off against Chris Bassitt for Toronto. The Red Sox continue to get reinforcements as they got Romy Gonzalez back last night and he went 2-3 with a walk. Today they get back RHP Chris Martin from the 15-day injured list and in a surprising corresponding move, RHP Cooper Criswell has been optioned to Triple-A Worcester. It’s likely with the off days coming up the Red Sox roll with a four-man rotation or call up another arm from Worcester.
- Chris Martin was reinstated from the 15-day injured list.
- Cooper Criswell Optioned to Triple-A Worcester.
