The Boston Red Sox are coming off a momentum-building week as they took four of six games from the two best teams in all of baseball taking two of three from the Philadelphia Phillies to start the week then over the weekend, they took two of three from the New York Yankees. After all that they are starting to get healthy as well, as they have now activated infielder Romy Gonzalez from the 10-day injured list and optioned utility player Jamie Westbrook to Triple-A Worcester as the Red Sox will start a three-game series North of the Border against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Red Sox Moves By The Numbers

INF – Romy Gonzalez

Gonzalez in his first season in the Red Sox system at Triple-A Worcester he’s played in 13 games hitting .373 with a 1.088 OPS; he had two doubles, two triples, three home runs, 17 RBI, eight runs scored, three stolen bases, and four walks. Three of those 13 games were in his rehab stint going 6-12 with a double, four RBI, a run scored, one walk, and a stolen base for a .500 average and a 1.121 OPS. With the Red Sox in 17 games, he hit .257 with a .651 OPS; he had one double, one triple, six RBI, two runs scored, two stolen bases, and three walks.

INF/OF – Jamie Westbrook

Westbrook has been a feel-good story in 2024 as he made his big league debut this season in a crucial spot and he drew a walk. He ended up playing in 11 games hitting .222 with a .749 OPS; he had one double, one home run, four RBI, one run scored, and two walks. He heads back to Worcester where in 49 games he hit .267 with a .801 OPS; he had 13 doubles, five home runs, 29 RBI, 25 runs scored, two stolen bases, and 24 walks.
