Red Sox Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Boston Red Sox kick off a four-game series against the Chicago White Sox. This series includes the yearly Patriots Day game on Monday with an 11:10 AM EST start time. The Red Sox for tonight are calling up righty Hunter Dobbins to make his second career big league start. In his first start, he went five innings giving up two runs on eight hits. He walked two and struck out five.

Dobbins will face Martin Perez who the Red Sox faced last Saturday. Perez went 4.2 innings giving up two runs on five hits. He walked four and struck out five. To make room on the roster for Dobbins the Red Sox designated Michael Fulmer for assignment. Fulmer saved the Red Sox bullpen in Monday’s blowout loss as he went 2.2 innings giving up three runs on four hits. He walked two and struck out two. Fulmer did what he did, which allowed manager Alex Cora to set up the bullpen to help the Red Sox take the series against the Rays.
