Boston Red Sox Down on the Farm June Check-In

The Boston Red Sox Triple-A affiliate in Worcester finished June going 12-13 and outscored their opponents 163-137. Double-A Portland went 13-12 in June and were outscored 154-148. High-A Greenville went 10-16 and were outscored by their opponents 152-130. Single-A Salem finished the month 14-12 and outscored their opponents 111-99.

SS – Marcelo Mayer – Portland Sea Dogs

Mayer finished June hitting .333, and a .882 OPS; he had six doubles, one home run, 12 RBI, 15 runs scored, 14 walks, and four stolen bases. This season he is hitting .301 with a .833 OPS; he has seven home runs, 36 RBI, 55 runs scored, and 13 stolen bases.

OF – Roman Anthony – Portland Sea Dogs

Anthony finished June hitting .250 with a .905 OPS; he had four doubles, a triple, five home runs, 11 RBI, 15 runs scored, seven walks, and a stolen base. This season he is hitting .241 with a .795 OPS; he has ten home runs, 27 RBI, 38 runs scored, and seven stolen bases.

C – Kyle Teel – Portland Sea Dogs

Teel last month hit .314 with a .849 OPS; he had four doubles, three home runs, 18 RBI, 17 runs scored, eight walks, and two stolen bases. This season he is hitting .303 with an .852 OPS; he has eight home runs, 49 RBI, 53 runs scored, and six stolen bases.

OF – Miguel Bleis – Greenville Drive

Bleis in June hit .140 with a .374 OPS; he had one double, three RBI, eight runs scored, four walks, and six stolen bases, four of the games he played in the month were with the Salem Red Sox. This season he is hitting .225 with a .656 OPS; he has five home runs, 28 RBI, 33 runs scored, and 22 stolen bases. 

RHP – Wikelman Gonzalez – Portland Sea Dogs

Gonzalez made four appearances with two of them coming as starts, he hasn’t recorded a decision, he had an 8.18 ERA, a 1.91 WHIP, and 14 strikeouts in 11 innings. This season in 14 appearances with 11 starts he is 3-2 with a 6.90 ERA, a 1.58 WHIP, and 52 strikeouts in 45.2 innings.

2B – Nick Yorke –Worcester Red Sox

Yorke in June hit .342 with a .929 OPS; he had six doubles, two home runs, ten RBI, 16 runs scored, 13 walks, and five stolen bases, the was between Portland and Worcester. This season between the two levels he is hitting .281 with a .780 OPS; he has eight home runs, 42 RBI, 44 runs scored, and 14 stolen bases. 

RHP – Luis Perales – Portland Sea Dogs

Perales is out for the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. In June he made two starts going 1-0 with a 1.23 ERA, a 0.82 WHIP, and ten strikeouts in 7.1 innings. He finishes his season going 2-2 in nine starts with a 2.94 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP, and 56 strikeouts in 33.2 innings.

SS – Yoeilin Cespedes – Salem Red Sox

Cespedes got moved up to Single-A Salem, but he didn’t play a game before he was sidelined with a broken left hand which may need surgery and could end his season. In June for the Red Sox rookie league, he hit .359 with a .1.163 OPS; he had four doubles, a triple, three home runs, eight RBI, 11 runs scored, four walks, and three stolen bases. This season he hit .319 with a 1.015 OPS; he had five home runs, 24 RBI, 20 runs scored, and three stolen bases.

RHP – Richard Fitts – Worcester Red Sox

Fitts in June made four starts going 1-1 with a 5.19 ERA, a 1.62 WHIP, and 21 strikeouts in 17.1 innings. This season in 15 appearances with 14 starts going 5-3 with a 4.26 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and 68 strikeouts in 69.2 innings.

SS/2B – Mikey Romero – Greenville Drive

Romero in June hit .212 with a .621 OPS; he had four doubles, two triples, one home run, six RBI, 11 runs scored, and six walks. This season he is hitting .234 with a .662 OPS; he has two home runs, 16 RBI, and 21 runs scored.

Month Ahead:

Worcester Red Sox (38-42)

In July the Red Sox Triple-A affiliate will take on the Syracuse Mets the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, the Rochester Red Wings the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, the Leigh Valley IronPigs the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders the affiliate of the New York Yankees and start a series against the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays the Buffalo Bisons.

Portland Sea Dogs (39-35)

The Red Sox Double-A affiliate will take on the New Hampshire Fisher Cats the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, the Hartford Yard Goats the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, the Philadelphia Phillies Double-A affiliate the Reading Fightin Phils, the New York Yankees affiliate the Somerset Patriots, and the Erie Seawolves for two games the Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.

Greenville Drive (30-45)

The Red Sox High-A affiliate the Greenville Drive will take on the Asheville Tourists, the High-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, the Rome Emporers the High-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, the Tampa Bay Rays affiliate the Bowling Green Hot Rods, the Hickory Crawdads the affiliate of the Texas Rangers, and two games against the Wilmington Blue Rocks the affiliate of the Washington Nationals.

Salem Red Sox (38-37)

The Red Sox Single-A affiliate will take on the Lynchburg Hillcats the affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians, the Down East Wood Ducks the Single-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, the Fredericksburg Nationals, the affiliate of the Washington Nationals, the Carolina Mudcats the Single-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, and two games against the Kannapolis Cannons the affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
