Boston Red Sox Call-Up Third-Ranked Prospect

The Boston Red Sox are reportedly calling up their third-ranked prospect, outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia. The Red Sox are loading up for their big series against the New York Yankees this weekend already calling David Hamilton and Richard Fitts. The corresponding move for Garcia is the Red Sox placing outfielder Wilyer Abreu on the injured list with a calf injury.

Jhostynxon Garcia

Garcia got called up to Triple-A earlier this season. In 66 games at Worcester, he hit .303 with a .932 OPS. He had 12 doubles, three triples, 17 home runs, 56 RBI, 52 runs scored, two stolen bases, and 25 walks. Between Double-A and Triple-A this season Jhostynxon Garcia has played in 99 games hitting .289 with an .875 OPS. He had 17 doubles, four triples, 20 home runs, 73 RBI, 71 runs scored, six stolen bases, and 43 walks. 

Wiley Abreu

Abreu in 108 games this season is hitting .253 with a .811 OPS. He has 16 doubles, 22 home runs, 69 RBI, 52 runs scored, six stolen bases, and 39 walks. Abreu in three seasons with the Red Sox has played in 268 games hitting .259 with a .801 OPS. He has 56 doubles, two triples, 39 home runs, 141 RBI, 121 runs scored, 17 stolen bases, and 88 walks.
