Andrew Kittredge’s return is a significant boost to the Baltimore Orioles bullpen. After missing time with elbow soreness, the veteran reliever returns to the Orioles bullpen healthy and prepared to make an immediate impact. Before landing on the injured list, Kittredge had posted solid numbers. He showcased the experience and poise that made him a 2021 All-Star with the Tampa Bay Rays. His presence adds depth and reliability to the Baltimore bullpen. This bullpen has played a crucial role in the team’s early-season success.

On the other side of the move, Chayce McDermott heads back to Norfolk after a brief stint in the majors. The 25-year-old right-hander was acquired in the 2022 Trey Mancini trade. He made his MLB debut this season. He showed flashes of his high-upside talent. McDermott’s velocity and strikeout ability were on display. Additional time in Triple-A will help refine his command and consistency. He continues his development toward a permanent role in the Baltimore Orioles pitching staff.

This roster update highlights the Baltimore Orioles strategy of blending proven major league talent with a rising crop of young arms. As Baltimore continues its push in the competitive AL East, it will be key to manage player health. Developing players effectively will also be crucial to sustain momentum through the 2025 MLB season.
