Baltimore Orioles Clinch American League East

Orioles AL East Champions

Last night, with their 2-0 win over the Boston Red Sox, the Baltimore Orioles clinched their first American League Title since 2014. The win was fueled by an Anthony Santander home run, a Heston Kjerstad RBI double that scored Adam Frazier and Dean Kremer, who went 5.1 innings, only giving up two hits and a walk while striking out eight Red Sox hitters. It was clinched a few weeks ago, but whoever won the American League East would hold the first seed in the American League. The Orioles would now face the winner of the four-seed and five-seed matchup.

Wrap Up

The Baltimore Orioles bullpen is the best part of this team and has been a force all season. As long as they continue to hold up, having a bullpen built like this can lead to a World Series, being led by Yennier Cano and Felix Bautista; Cano posts a 1-4 record with a 2.12 ERA, a 2.87 FIP, a 1.00 WHIP, a 0.5 HR/9, a 1.6 BB/9, and an 8.0 K/9, Baustista posts an 8-2 record, a 1.48 ERA, a 1.88 FIP, a 0.91 WHIP, a 0.6 HR/9, a 3.8 BB/9, and a 16.2 K/9. The Orioles lineup has also been clicking, led by potential Rookie of the Year Gunnar Henderson and young star Adley Rutschman. Henderson posts a slash line of .257/.326/.492 with a .818 OPS; he has 28 doubles, nine triples, 28 home runs, 82 RBI, 99 runs scored, ten stolen bases, and 55 walks. Rutschman posts a slash line of .277/.374/.436 with a .810 OPS; he has 31 doubles, one triple, 20 home runs, 79 RBI, 84 runs scored, one stolen base, and 91 walks. Things have been clicking lately for the Orioles, as they have won five straight and seven of their last ten. Watch out for this Baltimore team to make a deep run this October and could even make it to the World Series and win it in 2023.
