The Rockies are already sending him on a rehab assignment, which is a good sign for the Rockies. Gomber should slide into the rotation as the number-five starter once his 15 days are up. This is true as long as he does not suffer any setbacks.

Summary

The Rockies are in a tough National League West division and in the middle of a rebuild. Getting the veteran left-handed back in the mix will help. Austin Gomber’s return could be, if all goes well, April 9th. Rockies fans might see him return during the Milwaukee Brewers series at home. Alternatively, he could travel with the team and make his season debut on the road against the San Diego Padres.
