Atlanta Braves Sign Alex Verdugo

The Atlanta Braves are 10-12 in Grapefruit League play this spring. They are currently playing the Philadelphia Phillies and lead 5-0. They will be without outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. to start the season. Needing outfield depth until Acuna returns, they went out and signed Alex Verdugo to a one-year 1.5 million dollar deal. This signing happened just 24 hours after reports emerged. Verdugo had not received a single big-league contract offer all offseason. Now he has a new home for the 2025 season.
