The Atlanta Braves will start a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight in Pittsburgh. Atlanta has Bryce Elder taking the ball against Bailey Falter for the Pirates. The Braves are coming off a series win over the Cincinnati Reds and are 6-4 in their last ten games, averaging 3.7 runs per game while allowing 3.1 runs per game. Ahead of tonight’s game, the Braves designated outfielder Eddie Rosario for assignment while selecting the contract of outfielder Luke Williams from Triple-A Gwinnett. Rosario, in three games with Atlanta, failed to register a hit but scored a run. Williams this season in 20 games for Gwinnett hit .132 with a .350 OPS. He had a double, two RBI, four runs scored, three stolen bases, and seven walks.

Eddie Rosario

Rosario is in his 11th season. In 1,126 games, he’s hit .261 with a .788 OPS. He had 134 doubles, 22 triples, 119 home runs, 388 RBI, 400 runs scored, 39 stolen bases, and 133 walks. He finished sixth in Rookie of the Year voting in 2015. This was his third stint with the Braves, where in 282 games he hit .235 with a .696 OPS. He had 41 doubles, six triples, 36 home runs, 123 RBI, 112 runs scored, nine stolen bases, and 63 walks. He won the World Series with the Braves in 2021.

Luke Williams

Williams has appeared in 182 career big league games, hitting .221 with a .570 OPS. He has 12 doubles, a triple, two home runs, 16 RBI, 38 runs scored, 20 stolen bases, and 23 walks. He’s been with Atlanta since 2023, where in 41 games he’s hit .164 with a .452 OPS. He has three doubles, four RBI, nine runs scored, six stolen bases, and four walks.
