The Atlanta Braves kick off rivalry weekend tonight against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Tonight’s game will be a battle of aces as Chris Sale toes the rubber for Atlanta. Sale will face Garrett Crochet for the Red Sox. Ahead of tonight’s game, the Braves recalled left-handed pitcher Dylan Dodd from Triple-A Gwinnett. They optioned right-handed pitcher Bryce Elder to Triple-A. Dodd in 16 games with Gwinnett is 1-1 with a 5.74 ERA, a 1.34 WHIP, and 21 strikeouts in 15.2 innings. Elder in eight starts is 2-2 with a 4.50 ERA, a 4.91 FIP, a 1.25 WHIP, and 33 strikeouts in 44 innings. In one start at Triple-A, he suffered a loss, going 2.2 innings, giving up five runs on three hits. He walked four and struck out seven.

Dylan Dodd

Dodd in eight big league games, with seven of those coming as starts, all with Atlanta, is 2-2. He posts a 7.68 ERA, a 1.93 WHIP, and 17 strikeouts in 36.1 innings. In 88 minor league games, with 65 of those coming as starts, he is 19-25. Dodd posts a 4.79 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP, and 363 strikeouts in 357.1 innings.

Bryce Elder

Elder has made 59 appearances with the Braves, with 58 of those coming as starts, going 18-15 with a 4.22 ERA, a 1.32 WHIP, and 254 strikeouts in 322.1 innings. In 62 appearances in the minors, with 61 of those coming as starts, is 27-17 with a 3.70 ERA, a 1.20 WHIP, and 365 strikeouts in 352.2 innings.
