Atlanta Braves Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Atlanta Braves start a series tonight against the Colorado Rockies. The Braves come in having won seven of their last nine games. In that stretch, they’ve outscored their opponents 53-39. Bryce Elder gets the ball for Atlanta tonight, and he faces off against Ryan Feltner for the Rockies. Ahead of tonight’s game, the Braves are bringing Ian Anderson to Colorado after he was claimed off waivers yesterday. To make room for Anderson, the Braves are optioning Davis Daniel to Triple-A Gwinnett. Anderson is 0-1 in seven appearances with an 11.57 ERA, a 2.57 WHIP, and eight strikeouts in 9.1 innings. Daniel in three starts at Triple-A is 0-2 with a 4.63 ERA, a 1.29 WHIP, and nine strikeouts in 11.2 innings. He also pitched yesterday, going one inning. Daniel didn’t allow any base runners or a run and struck out one. The Braves also optioned Jarred Kelenic to Triple-A and signed Eddie Rosario to a major league deal. Kelenic this season is hitting .167 with a .531 OPS. He had two doubles, two home runs, two RBI, seven runs scored, and five walks. In two games with the Dodgers, Rosario went 1-4.

Ian Anderson

Anderson spent his first three big league seasons with Atlanta. In 52 starts, he went 22-13 with a 3.97 ERA, a 1.33 WHIP, and 262 strikeouts in 272.1 innings. He spent last season in the Braves’ minor league system across four levels. Anderson made 15 starts, going 3-2 with a 3.44 ERA, a 1.28 WHIP, and 67 strikeouts in 68 innings.

Davis Daniel

Daniel last season pitched in the Los Angeles Angels organization. In 22 appearances with 21 coming as starts in Triple-A, he went 9-7. Daniel posted a 5.42 ERA, a 1.47 WHIP, and 122 strikeouts in 118 innings. In six starts with the Angels, he went 1-4 with a 6.23 ERA, a 1.48 WHIP, and 28 strikeouts in 30.1 innings.

Jarred Kelenic

Kelenic is in his fifth season, he’s a .211 career hitter with a .658 OPS. He has 63 doubles, six triples, 49 home runs, 156 RBI, 161 runs scored, 31 stolen bases, and 130 walks. Last season, in 131 games with Atlanta, he hit .231 with a .679 OPS. He had 18 doubles, two triples, 15 home runs, 45 RBI, 49 runs scored, seven stolen bases, and 32 walks.

Eddie Rosario

Rosario spent four seasons with Atlanta, playing in 279 games, hitting .236 with a .699 OPS. He had 41 doubles, six triples, 36 home runs, 123 RBI, 111 runs scored, nine stolen bases, and 63 walks. Last season, in 24 games with Atlanta, he hit .154 with a .463 OPS. He had a double, three home runs, nine RBI, seven runs scored, a stolen base, and three walks.
