The Diamondbacks had a tough road to get to the Fall Classic; first, they swept the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Wild Card round, then they swept the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS, leading to a showdown against the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLCS. The Diamondbacks lost the first two in Philadelphia before heading home to Arizona for Games three, four, and five; they would win two of the three, returning to Philadelphia down 3-2 in the best-of-seven series, and they won games six and seven shocking the Phillies at their ballpark to get to their first World Series since 2001.
