RHP Blake Wehunt Career
Wehunt was drafted by the Red Sox in the ninth round of the 2023 MLB Draft out of Kennesaw State University. In his first season in 2023, he played for the Red Sox rookie league team making one appearance, he didn’t record a decision going one inning giving up one hit, he didn’t allow a run; he didn’t issue a walk and struck out one. He has jumped around this season going from Single-A Salem and High-A Greenville. At Greenville, he’s made ten starts going 1-4 with a 4.80 ERA, a 1.07 WHIP, a 2.2 BB/9, and a 9.8 K/9 in 45 innings. At Salem, he appeared in eight games going 2-0 with a 2.16 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP, a 4.1 BB/9, and an 11.9 K/9 in 33.1 innings.
