
The Washington Nationals will play two today following last night rainout against the Cleveland Guardians. The Nationals have a 16-19 record coming into play today. They have added right-hand pitcher Zach Bryzkcy to the roster as the 27th man before the first game of the doubleheader. In game one it will be Luis Ortiz against Jake Irvin starting at 3:35 today. Ben Lively will get the start in the second game for the Guardians against Brad Lord for the Nationals. Washington is in fourth place in the NL East to start the day. They currently sit six and a half games back from the New York Mets. Over their last ten games the Nationals have split with a 5-5 record. They will close out the series with the Guardians tomorrow. The Cardinals will come to town for a three game weekend series to close out the week.

The Washington Nationals have recalled right-hand pitcher Zach Bryzkcy from Triple-A today. With the rain out yesterday the Nationals will use Bryzkcy as their 27th man granted by the league for all doubleheaders following a postponement. He has pitched at three different levels this year for the Nationals. He has been in Single-A, Single-A+, and most recently in Triple-A. Bryzkcy has pitched in five games for the Rochester Red Wings so far this year. He has a 3.86 ERA with one hold recorded in Triple-A. Bryzkcy has pitched in 4.2 innings in Triple-A this year. In that time he has allowed five hits, two runs, three walks, and struck out nine. Bryzkcy has allowed opposing hitters a .263 batting average against this year with Rochester.
