The Detroit Tigers minor league affiliates last week combined to go 9-14 but combined to outscore their opponents 124-119. The Triple-A affiliate, the Toledo Mud Hens went 1-4 and were outscored 32-22. Double-A Erie and High-A West Michigan each went 2-4 with Erie still outscoring their opponent 34-31 while West Michigan was outscored 39-31. Single-A Lakeland went 4-2 and outscored their opponent 37-17. Two prospects had great weeks which earned them Player of the Week honors. The first one was outfielder Roberto Campos who won Hitter of the Week in the Midwest League for the West Michigan Whitecaps, he played in all six games going 11-22 with four doubles, two triples, one home run, 11 RBI, five runs scored, and a walk. This season he is hitting .278 with a .809 OPS; he has ten doubles, five triples, three home runs, 27 RBI, 21 runs scored, 12 walks, and eight stolen bases. The other player is the Tigers top-ranked prospect by ITD and the tenth-ranked prospect overall outfielder Max Clark who is playing at Single-A Lakeland, he takes home Hitter of the Week for the Florida State League. Clark played in five games going 9-20 for a .450 average, he had a hit in every game as well; he had three doubles, one home run, five RBI, six runs scored, five walks, and four stolen bases. This season he is hitting .277 with a .766 OPS; he has five doubles, two home runs, 30 RBI, 30 runs scored, 28 walks, and 14 stolen bases.
Roberto Campos Career
Campos was signed by the Tigers as an international free agent in 2019. In his first season in the system, he played for the Tigers rookie ball team, he played in 39 games, and he hit .228 with a .757 OPS; he had five doubles, eight home runs, 19 RBI, 20 runs scored, three stolen bases, and 17 walks. In 2022, he played for Single-A Lakeland, playing in 112 games, hitting .258 with a .711 OPS; he had 26 doubles, five triples, five home runs, 50 RBI, 52 runs scored, seven stolen bases, and 40 walks. In 2023 he played for High-A West Michigan playing in 88 games hitting .257 with a .708 OPS; he had 22 doubles, five triples, five home runs, 53 RBI, 34 runs scored, four stolen bases, and 28 walks.
Max Clark Career
Clark was drafted by the Tigers with the third overall pick in last year’s draft out of Franklin Community High School in Franklin, Indiana. In 2023 he played for the Tigers rookie league team and Single-A Lakeland playing in 23 games combined hitting .224 with a .760 OPS; he had five doubles, a triple, two home runs, 19 RBI, 18 runs scored, five stolen bases, and 21 walks.
