Toronto Blue Jays Roster Moves 8/2

Toronto Blue Jays Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Toronto Blue Jays will start a three-game series against the New York Yankees tonight. Since the All-Star break, Toronto is 6-7 and currently sits 14.5 games back in the American League East and ten games back in the Wild Card race. It hasn’t exactly been a great season in Toronto after having high expectations with the talent they had. On Tuesday they moved off some key pieces, but the big move was the haul they got for Yusei Kikuchi from the Houston Astros as they received RHP Jake Bloss, outfielder Joey Loperfido, and infielder Will Wagner. Another move they made was trading outfielder Kevin Kiermaier to the Los Angeles Dodgers for LHP Ryan Yarbrough tonight he will be activated for the game against the Yankees, and he will be donning the number 35.

LHP – Ryan Yarbrough

Yarbrough is 32 years old and currently in his seventh big league season, he’s spent time as a starter and in the bullpen having made 184 appearances with 68 of those coming as starts, he is 52-40 with a 4.30 ERA, a 4.27 FIP, a 1.20 WHIP, a 2.1 BB/9, and a 7.0 K/9 in 736.2 innings. This season in 32 appearances for the Dodgers he was 4-2 with a 3.74 ERA, a 5.17 FIP, a 1.14 WHIP, a 3.3 BB/9, and a 5.2 K/9 in 67.1 innings. He spent time with the Tampa Bay Rays where he spent his first five seasons then he joined the Kansas City Royals before they moved him to the Dodgers at last season’s trade deadline.
