The Toronto Blue Jays are coming off a victory over the Yankees. They won in game one of their series last night with a score of five to four. They have improved their record to 46-38, good enough for third place in the AL East. The Blue Jays are two games back from the Yankees in the division. They have won six of their last ten games as they head into action today. Today, Kevin Gausman will take the hill for the Blue Jays against Max Fried for the Yankees. Before this afternoon’s game, the Toronto Blue Jays announced two roster moves. They have recalled one bat from Triple-A Buffalo and have optioned another back to Buffalo in a roster spot swap.

Leo Jimenez

The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled shortstop Leo Jimenez from Triple-A today. Leo Jimenez has played in 15 games this year for the Buffalo Bisons in Triple-A. He has a .271 batting average and a .750 OPS on the year. Jimenez has three doubles, one home run, and nine RBI on the season. Last year in Triple-A, Jimenez recorded a .274 batting average with a .847 OPS.

Jonatan Clase

The Toronto Blue Jays have optioned outfielder Jonatan Clase back to Triple-A. He will continue his season with the Buffalo Bisons there. Clase has played in 34 games for the Blue Jays so far this season. He has a .210 batting average and an OPS of .588. Clase has three doubles, two home runs, nine RBI, and three steals this season.
