Toronto Blue Jays Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Toronto Blue Jays wrap up their series with the Seattle Mariners today. They will have Easton Lucas on the mound facing Luis Castillo for Seattle. Ahead of the finale they recalled righty Dillon Tate from Triple-A Buffalo. They also selected right-handed pitcher Paxton Schultz. Righty Nick Sandlin was placed on the 15-day injured list with a right lat strain. Toronto also designated righty Jacob Barnes for assignment.

Dillon Tate

Tate this season in Buffalo has appeared in five games posting a 1.50 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP, and seven strikeouts in six innings. Last season after the Blue Jays clinched him off waivers he made for appearances with a 5.40 ERA, a 2.10 WHIP, and four strikeouts in 3.1 innings. 

Paxton Schultz

Schultz has four games, a 2.08 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP, and nine strikeouts in 8.2 innings. Last season at Buffalo, he appeared in 40 games, seven of those coming as starts, posting a 6-4 record with a 4.11 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and 112 strikeouts in 92 innings. 

Nick Sandlin

Sandlin is 0-2 in 10 games this season with a 2.25 ERA, a 1.25 WHIP, and ten strikeouts in eight innings. Last season with Cleveland, he went 8-0 with a 3.75 ERA, a 1.27 WHIP, and 68 strikeouts in 57.2 innings. 

Jacob Barnes 

Barnes in six games is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA, a 1.63 WHIP, and five strikeouts in eight innings.
